The Polish American World salutes CITIZENS OF THE YEAR to recognize contributions individuals have made to improve the Polish American image.  Until the postponement, we asked readers to vote for their favorite candidates by filling out the official ballot provided here. Nominations must be made by APRIL 12th. Include names, addresses and phone numbers of your favorite and most deserving candidates. The awards dinner would have been held Friday, May 11th at 7 pm.

    The Citizen of the Year dinner and reception planned for this year on May 12th has been postponed until next year.  It was announced late in March.  The cancellation was announced because key staffers of the Polish American World were unexpectedly stricken and hospitalized with ailments.  It was not certain when the staffers would return to work but it was expected that they would be off the job for several weeks and perhaps longer.  In the meanwhile, writers Edward Dmuchowski, Veronica Kearns, Thomas Poster and Thomas Coss will remain at their jobs while Ellen Geyer and Viola Rupinski will maintain the circulation duties.
